These markets track the point differential in the first half of an upcoming college football game, offering various thresholds for how much one team might lead or trail the other before halftime.
All markets resolve based solely on points scored during the first half of the designated college football game. If Kansas State wins the first half by exceeding the specified point margin, the corresponding "Kansas St. wins 1H by over X points" market resolves to Yes; if Washington State achieves the required margin, the relevant "Washington St. wins 1H by over X points" market resolves to Yes. If neither team meets their respective threshold, all markets resolve to No. Should the game be postponed but commence within 48 hours of the original schedule, all markets remain active and resolve according to the actual first-half result. If the game fails to start within this window, all markets resolve to a fair price, ensuring equitable treatment for all participants.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own analysis and aim to balance betting action, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. If a significant discrepancy exists between this market and sportsbook lines, it may indicate differing perspectives on the likely outcome of the first half. It’s common to see prediction markets move more efficiently as new information becomes available, potentially offering an edge over static sportsbook odds.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different point spreads. The price of each contract reflects the probability of that spread occurring in the first half of the game, as perceived by the market participants. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders are incentivized to set accurate prices, as they profit from correctly predicting the outcome. As more traders participate and new information emerges, the price of these contracts will adjust, providing a real-time assessment of the expected first-half spread.
This market resolves around Sep 12, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final point spread of the first half of the Washington State vs. Kansas State game will be used to determine which contracts pay out. Contracts predicting the actual spread will be settled at 100, while those predicting a different spread will settle at 0. The resolution will be based on official game statistics and data sources.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before resolution. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either Washington State or Kansas State would likely have a significant impact. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they favor one team’s style of play, could also move the market. Furthermore, any significant shifts in public perception or betting trends, even outside of Kalshi, could influence trader behavior and cause the price to fluctuate. Pre-game analysis and expert predictions may also contribute to market movement.
