Generally, prediction market odds often reflect a more accurate forecast than traditional sportsbook odds, as they aggregate the opinions of a diverse group of informed traders. Sportsbooks may incorporate biases or seek to profit from public perception, while this market incentivizes participants to express their true beliefs. However, discrepancies can occur, especially early in the market’s lifecycle or if a sportsbook adjusts its lines rapidly in response to new information. It’s common to see some initial divergence, but as the event approaches, the odds on Polymarket tend to converge with those offered by major sportsbooks as more information is priced in.
