These markets track whether Washington Freedom and MI New York will exceed specific run-scoring thresholds in their Major League Cricket match on July 12, 2026. Bettors predict if each team's total runs will surpass 129.5, 159.5, or 189.5 runs during the match.
Resolution is based on the actual runs scored by each team in the completed match. If the match is cancelled before play begins or delayed more than 48 hours from its scheduled start, all markets resolve to fair market price as determined by the Exchange. If play starts but no official result is declared (including via DLS method), markets resolve to fair market price, except for statistics already definitively achieved which resolve on recorded results. For shortened matches with an official result declared through DLS or other ICC-approved methods, statistical markets resolve based on actual recorded statistics only, without projections or adjustments.
Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they serve different purposes and audiences. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are driven purely by trader belief and supply-and-demand dynamics. Prediction markets tend to reflect longer-term consensus and can be more efficient at pricing uncertain outcomes over time. However, sportsbook odds may incorporate sharper professional betting syndicates and real-time injury reports. Comparing the two can reveal where the crowd sees value relative to professional oddsmakers.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders submit bids and asks on shares representing different run-total outcomes. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share reflects the probability traders assign to that outcome, with the spread between bid and ask representing the market's confidence and liquidity. As new trades execute, prices adjust instantly. Higher trading volume typically narrows spreads and improves price discovery, making the odds more reliable as a forecast tool.
This market resolves around Jul 13, 2026, once the game concludes and the final combined run total is verifiable from credible public reporting. The outcome is determined by the official box score and final statistics recorded by the league. Until that point, prices will fluctuate based on live game developments, team performance, and trader expectations. Resolution is automatic once the event is complete and data is confirmed, settling all open positions based on the actual result.
Key catalysts include roster announcements, injury updates, weather conditions at game time, and recent team performance trends. Trading volume and sentiment shifts can accelerate price moves as game day approaches. Live game action—early runs, pitcher changes, or momentum swings—will drive sharp repricing throughout the matchup. Unexpected lineup changes or late-breaking news about player availability can trigger sudden volatility. Monitoring sports news outlets and team social media alongside this market's price action helps you anticipate and react to these developments before they're fully priced in.
