These markets track whether Washington Freedom or Los Angeles Knight Riders will exceed specific run thresholds in their Major League Cricket match scheduled for July 1, 2026. Bettors are predicting offensive performance by each team during the game.
Resolution is based on the total runs scored by each team as recorded in the official match result. If the match is cancelled before play begins or delayed more than 48 hours from the scheduled start time, all markets resolve to fair market price as determined by the Exchange. If play begins but no official result is declared (including via Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method), markets resolve to fair market price except for statistics already definitively achieved, which resolve on recorded results. For shortened matches with an official result declared through ICC-approved methods, statistical markets resolve based on actual recorded statistics only, without projections or adjustments.
Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and manage risk, while prediction markets aggregate trader beliefs through continuous price discovery. This market's odds may lead or lag sportsbook lines depending on information flow and trader conviction. Comparing the two can reveal where the crowd on Kalshi sees value relative to traditional sports betting venues, though each operates independently with distinct rules and liquidity.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing different run total outcomes. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the aggregate belief of all participants trading at any given moment. As new information emerges or sentiment shifts, traders adjust their positions, causing prices to move in real time. This dynamic pricing ensures the market continuously incorporates available data and trader expectations about the final run totals.
This market resolves around Jul 2, 2026, once the Washington Freedom versus Los Angeles Knight Riders game concludes and the final run totals are verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by the actual combined runs scored by both teams during regulation play. Resolution occurs after official game statistics are confirmed and made publicly available. Traders should monitor the event schedule and any potential postponements that could affect the resolution timeline.
Key roster developments, such as injuries to star players or last-minute lineup changes, can significantly shift expectations for run production. Weather conditions at game time—wind speed, temperature, and humidity—affect ball carry and scoring pace. Recent team performance trends, batting averages, and pitching strength heading into the matchup will influence trader positioning. Breaking news about player availability, umpire assignments, or venue factors can trigger rapid repricing as the game approaches and during live play.
