Sportsbooks set initial lines to balance their risk, while this market allows anyone to express their belief about the outcome. If a large number of traders believe a player is more likely to win than sportsbooks suggest, the odds on Polymarket will shift accordingly. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply varying interpretations of the players’ form and potential.
