Prediction market odds often reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows anyone to trade based on their own analysis. If a significant discrepancy exists between prediction market probabilities and sportsbook odds, it may indicate differing opinions on the likely outcome. It's important to remember that both represent probabilities, but are derived through different mechanisms and may appeal to different types of bettors.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome. As more shares are traded, the price of each share adjusts to reflect the collective sentiment. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of shares in a particular outcome essentially represents the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. Higher demand for shares in a specific outcome will drive up its price, indicating greater confidence in that result.
This market resolves around Sep 28, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The result will be determined by the official outcome of the W50 Nanao match between Moeka Miyata and Remika Ohashi.
