Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, and can sometimes differ from those offered by traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set their odds based on their own models and to balance their risk, while this market is driven by individuals willing to put their capital behind their beliefs. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially when there’s strong public sentiment or information not fully captured by sportsbook algorithms. Comparing these odds can provide a broader perspective on the likely outcome of the Evora tennis match.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of these shares directly reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders who believe a particular player will win, the higher the price of shares representing that outcome will rise, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing ensures the market odds are constantly updated based on the latest information and sentiment.
