Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of bettors, potentially differing from those set by traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks establish initial lines based on statistical analysis and expert opinion, while this market allows anyone to trade on their beliefs, potentially leading to odds that incorporate a broader range of information and perspectives. Discrepancies can arise due to differing risk assessments, biases, or the influence of late-breaking news. Comparing these odds to those offered by sportsbooks can reveal where the crowd believes there is value or mispricing.

The price of a share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the prices adjust to reflect the evolving consensus. The market’s price is determined solely by supply and demand; traders who believe an outcome is more likely will bid up the price of shares representing that outcome, while those who believe it is less likely will offer to sell.
