Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of bettors, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbook odds are typically set by professional oddsmakers, while this market is driven by individual traders. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or risk assessments. It’s common to see prediction markets move faster than sportsbooks in response to new information, as they incorporate a wider range of opinions. Analyzing both can provide a more comprehensive view of the likely outcome.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the probability of a specific outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the market price adjusts to reflect the aggregated sentiment. The current price indicates what the crowd believes is the likelihood of a particular player winning the match. This dynamic pricing allows for real-time adjustments based on new information and changing opinions.

Unexpected results in other matches involving these players might also shift expectations. Furthermore, major upsets in similar tournaments could lead to reassessments of probabilities.
