Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook offerings. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows anyone to trade based on their own analysis. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook has mispriced the probability of a Sedysheva or Frahn win, they can express that view by trading on Polymarket. This can lead to odds movements that diverge from traditional sportsbooks, especially as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts regarding the Sharm ElSheikh tennis match.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome of the Sharm ElSheikh tennis match. The price of these shares directly reflects the implied probability of each player winning, as determined by supply and demand. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders who believe Sedysheva will win, the higher the price of shares representing that outcome will climb, and vice versa for Frahn. This dynamic pricing ensures the market reflects the collective intelligence of all participants.
