Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by traders who are incentivized to accurately predict the outcome. If a significant discrepancy emerges between the two, opportunities for arbitrage may arise, as traders could potentially profit by betting on both the prediction market and a sportsbook. It is common to see prediction markets converge toward a more accurate probability as the event approaches.
