Generally, prediction market odds often reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially offering a more accurate forecast than traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks may incorporate biases or seek to profit from public perception, whereas this market aggregates the opinions of informed traders. However, discrepancies can occur due to differing levels of liquidity and the specific information factored into each pricing mechanism. It’s common to see initial differences that narrow as the event approaches, as new information becomes available and traders adjust their positions. Examining these differences can reveal insights into market expectations.
