Prediction market odds often reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and incorporate a profit margin, while this market relies on the collective intelligence of traders. If a significant discrepancy exists between the two, arbitrage opportunities may arise, where traders can profit by betting on both the prediction market and a sportsbook. However, it’s important to note that prediction markets can sometimes move faster than sportsbook odds in response to new information or shifts in sentiment.
