Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set initial lines based on their own analysis, while this market’s odds are determined by traders who buy and sell contracts representing their beliefs about the outcome. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook is mispricing the probability of a particular result, the odds here may diverge. It’s common to see differences, especially as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts leading up to the event.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders can buy and sell shares representing their beliefs about the outcome of the Monastir tennis match. The price of each share directly reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders who believe an outcome is likely, the higher the share price will climb, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing ensures the market reflects the collective intelligence of those trading on Polymarket.
