Generally, prediction market odds often reflect a 'wisdom of the crowd' perspective, potentially differing from those set by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks incorporate a profit margin into their odds, while this market is driven purely by traders’ beliefs about the outcome. If a significant discrepancy exists between this market and sportsbook odds, it could indicate that traders possess information or insights not yet fully factored into the sportsbook’s pricing. However, it’s important to remember that both represent probabilities as perceived by different groups, and neither is guaranteed to be accurate.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome of the Haddad vs Caliman match. The price of these shares directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more shares bought for a particular outcome, the higher its price rises, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market odds constantly adjust based on the collective intelligence of the traders participating in this market.
