Typically, prediction market odds offer a distinct perspective compared to traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, representing their profit margin. This market, being driven by the collective wisdom of traders, tends to more closely reflect the true probabilities as perceived by the crowd. However, discrepancies can arise due to differing information access, biases, or simply variations in opinion. It's common to see prediction markets react more quickly to new information than sportsbooks, potentially offering more efficient pricing for this event.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome.
