Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of bettors, potentially differing from sportsbook odds which can be influenced by house biases or initial public perception. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance betting action, while this market allows traders to freely adjust probabilities based on new information and analysis. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information access or varying interpretations of player form and match conditions. Observing these differences can provide valuable insights into where the 'crowd' believes the true odds lie.

The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the prices adjust to reflect the evolving consensus. This dynamic pricing allows the market to efficiently aggregate diverse perspectives and produce a forecast that is often more accurate than traditional methods.
