Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and incorporate a profit margin, while this market is driven by the collective predictions of traders. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook is undervaluing a player, they can buy shares, driving up the price and creating a discrepancy. It’s common to see prediction markets more accurately forecast outcomes, especially when there’s disagreement between the public and the sportsbook. Analyzing both can provide a more comprehensive view.
