Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market allows traders to express their own beliefs about the probability of each player winning. If a significant discrepancy exists between the two, arbitrage opportunities may arise, where traders can profit by betting on both the prediction market and a sportsbook. However, it’s important to remember that both represent probabilities, and neither guarantees an accurate prediction of the match’s outcome.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each player’s chance of winning. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and express their views, the market price adjusts to reflect the collective assessment. The price movement is driven by supply and demand; if more people believe Iva Marinkovic will win, the price of shares representing her victory will increase, and vice versa.
This market resolves around Sep 16, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the W15 Hurghada tennis match between Iva Marinkovic and Ulyana Hrabavets, as reported by a recognized tennis authority. The platform will verify the result against publicly available data to determine which player won the match and settle the market accordingly.
