Often, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. This is because prediction markets aggregate the wisdom of the crowd, reflecting a broader range of opinions and information. Sportsbooks, on the other hand, set their odds based on their own models and risk assessments. While both aim to predict the outcome, differences can emerge due to varying information sources and the incentives of those placing bets. It's common to see discrepancies, especially as new information becomes available before the match.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each player winning. The price of each share reflects the probability of that outcome, as determined by supply and demand. As more people buy shares in a particular player, the price increases, indicating a higher perceived chance of victory. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price movements are driven by the collective insights of traders responding to news, analysis, and other relevant information regarding the Hurghada tennis match.
