Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks establish lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by individuals freely trading based on their own analysis and information. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook is mispricing an outcome, they can express that view by trading shares, potentially causing the prediction market odds to diverge from those offered by sportsbooks. It's a fascinating comparison of different forecasting approaches.
