Sportsbooks set their lines based on models and expert analysis, while this market aggregates the opinions of many individuals willing to put their capital at risk. It’s common to see discrepancies between the two, especially early in the market's lifecycle, as prediction markets can incorporate information not yet fully priced into sportsbook lines. However, as the event approaches, the odds on Polymarket and sportsbook lines tend to converge.
