Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set their lines based on internal models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows traders to freely express their beliefs. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook has mispriced an outcome, they can take the opposite position, driving the odds on Polymarket in a different direction. This dynamic can lead to prediction market odds being more accurate, especially as the event approaches and more information becomes available.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome. As more shares are traded, the price of those shares adjusts, reflecting the collective opinion of the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring; a higher price indicates a greater perceived chance of success. This creates a dynamic and responsive pricing system driven entirely by supply and demand.

Several factors could influence trading activity and shift the odds in this market. Any news regarding player form, injuries, or changes in playing conditions could significantly impact the perceived likelihood of each player winning. Unexpected upsets in other matches within the tournament could also affect confidence levels. Furthermore, large volume trades from informed participants could trigger price movements, as could shifts in public sentiment or analysis from tennis experts.
