Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while this market allows traders to directly assess probabilities. If prediction market odds significantly diverge from sportsbook odds, it could indicate differing opinions on the players' chances or potentially identify mispricing. It’s common to see prediction markets outperform sportsbooks in accuracy, as they harness the wisdom of the crowd, but this isn’t always the case.
