Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds offer a distinct perspective compared to traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while this market aims to represent the true probability as assessed by traders. However, differences can arise due to varying levels of information and differing opinions. It’s common to see this market initially align with sportsbook odds, but diverge as new information emerges or as traders identify perceived mispricings. Examining both can provide a more comprehensive understanding of the potential outcomes.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of these shares directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the price adjusts to reflect the collective wisdom of the crowd. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market remains responsive to changing perceptions and provides a real-time assessment of the fight's potential results.

This market resolves around Oct 5, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Volkov vs. Troian fight, as declared by the relevant sporting authority. Any potential disputes or challenges to the official result will be considered based on available evidence and established procedures. The market will then settle, and traders will receive payouts based on the final outcome and their shareholdings.

Several signals could significantly impact this market. Any news regarding injuries to either fighter, changes in their training regimens, or even shifts in public perception could cause the odds to move. Pre-fight press conferences, weigh-in results, and analysis from MMA experts could also influence trader sentiment. Unexpected betting patterns in traditional sportsbooks might also be factored in. Ultimately, any information that alters the perceived probability of either fighter winning is likely to move the market.
