Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market relies on individuals freely trading based on their own analysis. If a significant discrepancy exists between prediction market probabilities and sportsbook lines, it may indicate that the market believes the sportsbook has mispriced the event, or that information not yet reflected in sportsbook odds is available to prediction market traders.
