This event is for the WBB game between Villanova Wildcats and Texas Tech Red Raiders on March 20 at 8:30 PM ET.
If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the game has been completed.
If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, this market will resolve 50-50.
Kalshi resolves YES for both possible outcomes (Villanova win OR Texas Tech win), creating a logical contradiction where the market cannot resolve NO. Polymarket correctly resolves to one of two mutually exclusive outcomes based on which team wins. This is a data integrity failure on Kalshi's platform.
Hero Tip:
Do not trade the Kalshi market for this event. Kalshi's resolution rules state the market resolves YES if Villanova wins AND YES if Texas Tech wins — meaning it resolves YES regardless of outcome, making it fundamentally unresolvable as a prediction market. Trade only on Polymarket, which has proper binary logic: Villanova Wildcats (if Villanova wins) or Texas Tech Red Raiders (if Texas Tech wins).
Critical Divergence Points:
Kalshi: Outlier: Contains a logical contradiction. The market resolves YES if Villanova wins the game AND ALSO resolves YES if Texas Tech wins the game, meaning both outcomes map to YES. Key quote: 'If Villanova wins...then the market resolves to Yes. If Texas Tech wins...then the market resolves to Yes.'
Polymarket: Outlier: Correctly implements binary resolution with mutually exclusive outcomes. The market resolves to 'Villanova Wildcats' if Villanova wins or 'Texas Tech Red Raiders' if Texas Tech wins, with explicit handling for postponement (market remains open) and cancellation (50-50 split). Key quote: 'If the Villanova Wildcats win, the market will resolve to Villanova Wildcats. If the Texas Tech Red Raiders win, the market will resolve to Texas Tech Red Raiders.'
