Frequently asked questions

Comparing prediction market odds to sportsbook odds reveals how the wisdom of the crowd differs from professional oddsmakers. Often, prediction markets can offer different probabilities, especially when there’s disagreement or new information emerges. Sportsbooks set initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, while this market reflects the collective beliefs of many individual traders. Discrepancies can arise due to differing interpretations of available data, or simply because prediction market participants have access to unique insights. It's common to see prediction markets react more quickly to breaking news or unexpected developments than traditional sportsbooks.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate, the price adjusts to reflect the collective assessment. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more shares purchased for a particular outcome, the higher its price rises, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market odds constantly adapt to new information and changing sentiment among traders. The current top outcome is unavailable, and the implied probability is unavailable.

This market resolves around Sep 14, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The result of the Vikingur Reykjavik vs. Keflavik IF second half will be used to determine the winning outcome. Resolution will be based on the official result as reported by a trusted source for the match. The platform will verify the outcome against publicly available data to ensure accuracy and fairness. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings based on the final result of the second half.

Several signals or events could significantly impact this market before resolution.
