Frequently asked questions

Generally, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can sometimes differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market allows traders to freely express their beliefs about the probability of each outcome. If a significant discrepancy exists, arbitrage opportunities may arise, where traders can profit by simultaneously betting on both the prediction market and a sportsbook. However, it's important to remember that both venues have their own inherent advantages and disadvantages in terms of information access and market efficiency.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the prices adjust to reflect the collective assessment of the group. The current trading volume and price movements indicate the level of conviction behind each possible scenario for the first goalscorer in the first half.

This market resolves around Sep 11, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the outcome will be determined by which team, Venezia FC or ACF Fiorentina, scores the first goal during the first half of the match. The resolution will be based on official match data and will be publicly available following the conclusion of the first half. The platform will verify the result against trusted sources to ensure accuracy and transparency.

Several factors could influence the price of this market before resolution. Any news regarding team injuries, starting lineups, or changes in player form could significantly impact trader sentiment. Unexpected weather conditions or tactical adjustments announced before the match could also play a role. Furthermore, general news surrounding team morale or recent performance in other matches could shift the perceived probabilities. Monitoring these signals and assessing their potential impact on the game will be crucial for traders looking to capitalize on market movements.
