Typically, prediction market odds reflect a different kind of wisdom than those found at sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, and may adjust lines to balance betting action. This market, on Polymarket, represents the aggregated belief of traders who have 'skin in the game' – their money is at risk based on their predictions. While sportsbooks rely on statistical models and expert analysis, this market is driven by the crowd’s assessment of the likely outcome, potentially revealing information not fully captured by traditional methods.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, the price increases, indicating a growing belief in its likelihood. Conversely, selling pressure lowers the price. This dynamic process ensures the market price constantly adjusts to incorporate new information and changing sentiment among traders.
This market resolves around Sep 20, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting.
