This market refers to the Valorant Round 5 match between YFT Esports and Evil Geniuses Academy in the VCL North America: Stage 3 Group Stage, initially scheduled for June 25 at 7:00PM ET. This market will resolve to "YFT Esports" if YFT Esports win the match against Evil Geniuses Academy. This market will resolve to "Evil Geniuses Academy" if Evil Geniuses Academy win the match against YFT Esports. If the match is canceled (not played at all), ends in a tie, or is delayed beyond 7 days from the scheduled date without a winner determined, this market will resolve to 50-50. If the match begins but is not completed, and one team wins due to the opponent's forfeiture, disqualification, or walkover, this market will resolve to the team who wins. If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover (team withdraws before the start and the other wins automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50. The resolution source for this market will be official information from https://vlr.gg. However, if https://vlr.gg has not published final results within 2 hours after the event’s conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead including video evidence. In cases where a team’s listed name includes minor discrepancies from the resolution source, this market will resolve based on the underlying real-world match rather than exact name matching. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor tags, affiliate or academy designations, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences will be treated as referring to the same team, provided the intended team can be clearly and uniquely identified within the relevant competition. If a listed team name has no reasonable connection to any participating team, or if it matches or could reasonably refer to another team in the same competition such that the intended team cannot be unambiguously determined, this market will resolve 50-50.

Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are driven by trader consensus and real money at stake. Prediction markets can sometimes offer sharper pricing on esports events because traders with specialized knowledge compete directly. Comparing this market's implied probability to major sportsbook lines on the same matchup can reveal where professional bettors and prediction market participants disagree.
This market resolves around Jun 26, 2026, once the best-of-three series concludes and the winner is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by which team wins the majority of maps in the match. Resolution occurs after official tournament results are published and confirmed by the esports community and broadcast partners. Traders should monitor the VCL North America schedule and any official announcements to track timing and ensure they understand the final result before settlement.
Several catalysts could shift odds before the match begins. Roster announcements, player injuries, or last-minute substitutions for either team would likely trigger sharp price moves. Recent tournament results, scrim performance leaks, or coaching changes could signal shifting competitive balance. Meta shifts in Valorant patches or map pool updates may favor one team's playstyle over the other. Social media sentiment, analyst predictions, and betting action from known esports professionals can also influence trader positioning and move implied probabilities significantly.
