This market refers to the Valorant Upper bracket semifinal 1 match between ONSIDE GAMING and X-CAST in the VCL Korea: Playoffs, initially scheduled for July 8 at 4:00AM ET. This market will resolve to "ONSIDE GAMING" if ONSIDE GAMING win the match against X-CAST. This market will resolve to "X-CAST" if X-CAST win the match against ONSIDE GAMING. If the match is canceled (not played at all), ends in a tie, or is delayed beyond 7 days from the scheduled date without a winner determined, this market will resolve to 50-50. If the match begins but is not completed, and one team wins due to the opponent's forfeiture, disqualification, or walkover, this market will resolve to the team who wins. If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover (team withdraws before the start and the other wins automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50. The resolution source for this market will be official information from https://vlr.gg. However, if https://vlr.gg has not published final results within 2 hours after the event’s conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead including video evidence. In cases where a team’s listed name includes minor discrepancies from the resolution source, this market will resolve based on the underlying real-world match rather than exact name matching. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor tags, affiliate or academy designations, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences will be treated as referring to the same team, provided the intended team can be clearly and uniquely identified within the relevant competition. If a listed team name has no reasonable connection to any participating team, or if it matches or could reasonably refer to another team in the same competition such that the intended team cannot be unambiguously determined, this market will resolve 50-50.

Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they operate under different mechanisms. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are driven by trader consensus and real-money incentives to forecast accurately. Comparing this market's odds to major esports sportsbooks can reveal whether professional bettors and casual traders are aligned on the likely outcome, or whether one venue perceives significantly different probabilities for either team.
On Polymarket, traders set prices through an automated market maker, with each outcome represented as a tradable contract. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current pricing reflects the collective belief of market participants about which team will prevail in this best-of-three series. As new developments emerge—such as roster announcements or recent tournament results—traders adjust their positions, causing the odds to shift in real time. The spread between bid and ask prices indicates the level of liquidity and confidence in the market.
This market resolves around Jul 8, 2026, once the playoff match concludes and the result is verifiable from credible public reporting. The outcome will be confirmed based on which team wins the best-of-three series. Until that point, traders can continue to buy and sell positions as odds fluctuate with team news, scrim results, and community sentiment. Resolution typically occurs shortly after the final map is played and the winner is officially announced.
Several catalysts could shift odds before the playoff match begins. Roster changes, player injuries, or surprise roster swaps would significantly impact trader confidence in either team. Recent tournament performances, scrim results, and public statements from team management can also influence market pricing. Meta shifts in Valorant's competitive landscape and patch updates affecting agent viability may alter perceived team strengths. Additionally, betting volume spikes and large trades from high-profile traders often trigger price movements as other participants react to perceived insider information or shifting consensus.
