Description

This market refers to the Valorant Round 5 match between NRG Academy and Evil Geniuses Academy in the VCL North America: Stage 2 Group Stage, initially scheduled for April 13 at 4:00PM ET. This market will resolve to "NRG Academy" if NRG Academy win the match against Evil Geniuses Academy. This market will resolve to "Evil Geniuses Academy" if Evil Geniuses Academy win the match against NRG Academy. If the match is canceled (not played at all), ends in a tie, or is delayed beyond 7 days from the scheduled date without a winner determined, this market will resolve to 50-50. If the match begins but is not completed, and one team wins due to the opponent's forfeiture, disqualification, or walkover, this market will resolve to the team who wins. If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover (team withdraws before the start and the other wins automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50. The resolution source for this market will be official information from https://vlr.gg. However, if https://vlr.gg has not published final results within 2 hours after the event’s conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead including video evidence. In cases where a team’s listed name includes minor discrepancies from the resolution source, this market will resolve based on the underlying real-world match rather than exact name matching. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor tags, affiliate or academy designations, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences will be treated as referring to the same team, provided the intended team can be clearly and uniquely identified within the relevant competition. If a listed team name has no reasonable connection to any participating team, or if it matches or could reasonably refer to another team in the same competition such that the intended team cannot be unambiguously determined, this market will resolve 50-50.

PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue:

Kalshi's market structure creates a logical contradiction where both possible match outcomes (NRG Academy wins OR Evil Geniuses Academy wins) resolve to YES, making the market fundamentally unresolvable. Polymarket correctly structures its markets with mutually exclusive outcomes.

Hero Tip:

Do not trade the Kalshi match winner market — it contains a data integrity failure that makes it impossible to determine a single correct resolution. All Polymarket markets (match winner, map winners, totals, handicaps) are properly structured and resolvable. If you hold Kalshi positions, escalate to PredictionHero support immediately.

Critical Divergence Points:

  • Kalshi: Outlier: Contains a critical logical contradiction. The market states 'If NRG Academy wins... then the market resolves to Yes' AND 'If Evil Geniuses Academy wins... then the market resolves to Yes.' This means both possible outcomes resolve to YES, leaving no valid NO resolution path. This violates basic binary market logic and makes the market unresolvable.
  • Polymarket: Aligned with sound market design: Correctly structures the match winner as a mutually exclusive outcome market where 'NRG Academy' and 'Evil Geniuses Academy' are distinct resolution options. Also provides proper edge-case handling: normal play resolves to winner, forfeits/walkovers before match start resolve 50-50, incomplete matches with a winner via forfeit resolve to that winner, and cancellations/delays beyond 7 days resolve 50-50. All map-specific and handicap markets follow the same logically consistent pattern.
