PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: Kalshi match winner markets (1-2) omit explicit forfeit/walkover/disqualification logic that Polymarket specifies in detail. Polymarket distinguishes between mid-match forfeits (resolves to winner) and pre-match walkovers (resolves 50-50); Kalshi is silent on these scenarios.Hero tip: For Kalshi markets 1-2 (match winner), assume standard esports forfeit = loss convention unless Kalshi clarifies otherwise. For all Polymarket markets and Kalshi map-level markets, the 7-day delay threshold and vlr.gg primary source are consistent. Monitor vlr.gg for official results within 2 hours post-event; if delayed, credible reporting and video evidence become secondary sources.

Critical divergence points:

  • Kalshi: Markets 1-2 (match winner) use minimal binary logic: 'If Beşiktaş Esports wins the match, resolves Yes; if Mandatory wins, resolves Yes.' No explicit handling of forfeits, walkovers, disqualifications, or incomplete matches. Assumes standard match completion.
  • Polymarket: Markets 3-23 provide granular edge-case logic: forfeits/walkovers/disqualifications after play begins resolve to the winning team; pre-match walkovers resolve 50-50. Matches canceled, tied, or delayed >7 days without completion resolve 50-50. Maps must be played to completion (not by forfeit) for round/handicap markets to resolve to a team.
Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and understanding the applicable rules and resolution criteria before placing any trade or bet. If you notice a potential inconsistency, discrepancy, or error in an alert, please report it to our team so we can review and improve the accuracy of our data.

Polymarket

This market refers to the Valorant Decider match between Mandatory and Beşiktaş Esports in the VCL EMEA: Stage 3 Group A, initially scheduled for June 29 at 11:00AM ET. This market will resolve to "Mandatory" if Mandatory win the match against Beşiktaş Esports. This market will resolve to "Beşiktaş Esports" if Beşiktaş Esports win the match against Mandatory. If the match is canceled (not played at all), ends in a tie, or is delayed beyond 7 days from the scheduled date without a winner determined, this market will resolve to 50-50. If the match begins but is not completed, and one team wins due to the opponent's forfeiture, disqualification, or walkover, this market will resolve to the team who wins. If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover (team withdraws before the start and the other wins automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50. The resolution source for this market will be official information from https://vlr.gg. However, if https://vlr.gg has not published final results within 2 hours after the event’s conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead including video evidence. In cases where a team’s listed name includes minor discrepancies from the resolution source, this market will resolve based on the underlying real-world match rather than exact name matching. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor tags, affiliate or academy designations, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences will be treated as referring to the same team, provided the intended team can be clearly and uniquely identified within the relevant competition. If a listed team name has no reasonable connection to any participating team, or if it matches or could reasonably refer to another team in the same competition such that the intended team cannot be unambiguously determined, this market will resolve 50-50.

Kalshi

Resolution is determined by the final result of the VCL EMEA: Stage 3 2026 Valorant match between Beşiktaş Esports and Mandatory scheduled for June 29, 2026 at 11:00 AM EDT. The market resolves to Yes for whichever team wins the match.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction markets and traditional sportsbooks price events through fundamentally different mechanisms. Sportsbooks set odds to balance liability and extract a margin, while prediction markets aggregate trader beliefs through continuous order flow. This market's odds reflect what thousands of independent traders believe will happen, often incorporating real-time information faster than sportsbooks adjust their lines. Prediction market prices tend to be more efficient for niche esports matchups like this one, where traditional sportsbook coverage may be limited or less liquid. Comparing the two can reveal arbitrage opportunities or validate consensus expectations.

Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform attracts different trader demographics, liquidity pools, and risk tolerances, causing temporary price gaps. Polymarket and Kalshi may also have distinct fee structures, user interfaces, and settlement rule interpretations that influence how traders price uncertainty. Market depth varies between platforms—lower liquidity on one side can push odds further from consensus. Additionally, traders may hold stronger convictions on one platform based on their preferred tools or community. These differences typically narrow as informed traders arbitrage across both venues, but gaps can persist during low-volume periods or when new information emerges.

Team roster changes, player substitutions, or injury announcements could shift trader expectations significantly. Recent match results, scrim performance, and public statements from coaches or players often influence sentiment. Meta shifts in Valorant's competitive landscape—such as agent balance patches or map pool updates—may favor one team's playstyle over the other. Betting volume spikes can indicate sharp money entering the market with new information. Live match momentum, early round outcomes, and in-game economy management during the series itself will drive real-time price movement as traders update their beliefs based on unfolding events.
