Description

This market refers to the Valorant Upper bracket quarterfinal 3 match between Evil Geniuses Academy and QoR in the VCL North America: Stage 2 Playoffs, initially scheduled for April 28 at 4:00PM ET. This market will resolve to "Evil Geniuses Academy" if Evil Geniuses Academy win the match against QoR. This market will resolve to "QoR" if QoR win the match against Evil Geniuses Academy. If the match is canceled (not played at all), ends in a tie, or is delayed beyond 7 days from the scheduled date without a winner determined, this market will resolve to 50-50. If the match begins but is not completed, and one team wins due to the opponent's forfeiture, disqualification, or walkover, this market will resolve to the team who wins. If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover (team withdraws before the start and the other wins automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50. The resolution source for this market will be official information from https://vlr.gg. However, if https://vlr.gg has not published final results within 2 hours after the event’s conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead including video evidence. In cases where a team’s listed name includes minor discrepancies from the resolution source, this market will resolve based on the underlying real-world match rather than exact name matching. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor tags, affiliate or academy designations, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences will be treated as referring to the same team, provided the intended team can be clearly and uniquely identified within the relevant competition. If a listed team name has no reasonable connection to any participating team, or if it matches or could reasonably refer to another team in the same competition such that the intended team cannot be unambiguously determined, this market will resolve 50-50.

PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue:

Kalshi uses a binary Yes/No structure that resolves Yes if either team wins, while Polymarket requires explicit winner identification and includes detailed edge-case logic for forfeits, walkovers, and cancellations. Kalshi does not explicitly address these scenarios.

Hero Tip:

For Polymarket markets, prioritize vlr.gg as the authoritative source and watch for the 2-hour reporting window. For Kalshi, clarify whether forfeit/walkover before match start triggers Yes or No resolution, as this differs from Polymarket's 50-50 rule. Avoid trading Kalshi if match cancellation or forfeit risk is high.

Critical Divergence Points:

  • Polymarket:

Five distinct markets (Map 1 Winner, Map 2 Winner, Match Winner, Map Handicap -1.5/+1.5, Games Total O/U 2.5) with explicit outcome identification. Forfeits/walkovers during match resolve to the winning team; pre-match forfeits resolve 50-50. Cancellations or delays beyond 7 days without play resolve 50-50. Resolution source: vlr.gg with 2-hour credible reporting fallback. Key quote: 'If the match ends due to the clinching map being forfeited this will count as a completed match.'
  • Kalshi:

Single binary market: resolves Yes if Evil Geniuses Academy wins OR if QoR wins the match. No explicit handling of forfeits, walkovers, or cancellations. Resolution source not specified. Key quote: 'If Evil Geniuses Academy wins...then the market resolves to Yes. If QoR wins...then the market resolves to Yes.'
