Description

This market refers to the Valorant Round 4 match between Evil Geniuses Academy and Division One in the VCL North America: Stage 2 Group Stage, initially scheduled for April 6 at 4:00PM ET. This market will resolve to "Evil Geniuses Academy" if Evil Geniuses Academy win the match against Division One. This market will resolve to "Division One" if Division One win the match against Evil Geniuses Academy. If the match is canceled (not played at all), ends in a tie, or is delayed beyond 7 days from the scheduled date without a winner determined, this market will resolve to 50-50. If the match begins but is not completed, and one team wins due to the opponent's forfeiture, disqualification, or walkover, this market will resolve to the team who wins. If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover (team withdraws before the start and the other wins automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50. The resolution source for this market will be official information from https://vlr.gg. However, if https://vlr.gg has not published final results within 2 hours after the event’s conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead including video evidence. In cases where a team’s listed name includes minor discrepancies from the resolution source, this market will resolve based on the underlying real-world match rather than exact name matching. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor tags, affiliate or academy designations, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences will be treated as referring to the same team, provided the intended team can be clearly and uniquely identified within the relevant competition. If a listed team name has no reasonable connection to any participating team, or if it matches or could reasonably refer to another team in the same competition such that the intended team cannot be unambiguously determined, this market will resolve 50-50.

Issue:

Kalshi's market conditions are logically contradictory and unresolvable. Kalshi states the market resolves to Yes if either Evil Geniuses Academy wins OR if Division One wins, making every outcome resolve to Yes. Polymarket uses standard binary resolution (one team wins, market resolves to that team's name) with clear tie-breaking and cancellation rules, making it resolvable.

Hero Tip:

Do not trade Kalshi's market for this event group — it contains a fatal logical flaw that makes settlement impossible. Polymarket's markets are resolvable and should be your primary reference. If you hold Kalshi positions, escalate to PredictionHero support immediately for clarification or cancellation.

Critical Divergence Points:

  • Kalshi: Outlier: Kalshi's resolution criteria state 'If Evil Geniuses Academy wins... then the market resolves to Yes' AND 'If Division One wins... then the market resolves to Yes.' This creates a logical contradiction where every possible outcome (either team winning) results in Yes, leaving no scenario for a No resolution. The market is mathematically unresolvable.
  • Polymarket: Aligned with standard binary sports resolution: Polymarket resolves to 'Evil Geniuses Academy' if EG.A wins the match, or to 'Division One' if Division One wins, with explicit tie-breaking rules for cancellations, forfeits, and delays beyond 7 days (all resolve 50-50). The market is logically coherent and resolvable.
