This market refers to the Valorant Decider match between EDward Gaming and BBL Esports in the Esports World Cup Group A, initially scheduled for July 6 at 7:00AM ET. This market will resolve to "EDward Gaming" if EDward Gaming win the match against BBL Esports. This market will resolve to "BBL Esports" if BBL Esports win the match against EDward Gaming. If the match is canceled (not played at all), ends in a tie, or is delayed beyond 7 days from the scheduled date without a winner determined, this market will resolve to 50-50. If the match begins but is not completed, and one team wins due to the opponent's forfeiture, disqualification, or walkover, this market will resolve to the team who wins. If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover (team withdraws before the start and the other wins automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50. The resolution source for this market will be official information from https://vlr.gg. However, if https://vlr.gg has not published final results within 2 hours after the event’s conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead including video evidence. In cases where a team’s listed name includes minor discrepancies from the resolution source, this market will resolve based on the underlying real-world match rather than exact name matching. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor tags, affiliate or academy designations, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences will be treated as referring to the same team, provided the intended team can be clearly and uniquely identified within the relevant competition. If a listed team name has no reasonable connection to any participating team, or if it matches or could reasonably refer to another team in the same competition such that the intended team cannot be unambiguously determined, this market will resolve 50-50.

Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they operate under different incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are driven purely by trader consensus and real money at stake. Esports betting markets on sportsbooks may reflect sharper professional action, whereas prediction markets can capture broader sentiment and retail participation. Comparing the two can reveal where informed traders and casual bettors disagree on this match's likely winner.
On Polymarket, traders set prices by buying and selling outcome shares in an automated market maker system. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the collective probability estimate—higher prices mean traders view that outcome as more likely. As new information emerges about team form, roster changes, or tournament dynamics, traders adjust their positions, moving the price up or down. This continuous repricing mechanism ensures the market stays responsive to fresh signals right up until resolution.
This market resolves around Jul 6, 2026, once the match concludes and the winner is verifiable from credible public reporting. The outcome is determined by which team wins the best-of-three series—either EDward Gaming or BBL Esports will advance from Group A. Final confirmation typically arrives within hours of the match ending, allowing the market to settle promptly and traders to receive their payouts based on the verified result.
Several catalysts can shift odds before the match begins. Roster announcements, player injuries, or last-minute lineup changes for either team will likely trigger sharp trading. Tournament bracket updates, head-to-head record reviews, and recent scrim results often influence trader positioning. Media coverage highlighting team form or meta shifts in Valorant patch notes can also move the market. Closer to game day, warm-up match results and official team statements may prompt final adjustments as traders refine their probability estimates.
