This market refers to the Valorant Upper bracket semifinal 2 match between Dplus and ARETE in the VCL Korea: Playoffs, initially scheduled for July 8 at 6:00AM ET. This market will resolve to "Dplus" if Dplus win the match against ARETE. This market will resolve to "ARETE" if ARETE win the match against Dplus. If the match is canceled (not played at all), ends in a tie, or is delayed beyond 7 days from the scheduled date without a winner determined, this market will resolve to 50-50. If the match begins but is not completed, and one team wins due to the opponent's forfeiture, disqualification, or walkover, this market will resolve to the team who wins. If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover (team withdraws before the start and the other wins automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50. The resolution source for this market will be official information from https://vlr.gg. However, if https://vlr.gg has not published final results within 2 hours after the event’s conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead including video evidence. In cases where a team’s listed name includes minor discrepancies from the resolution source, this market will resolve based on the underlying real-world match rather than exact name matching. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor tags, affiliate or academy designations, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences will be treated as referring to the same team, provided the intended team can be clearly and uniquely identified within the relevant competition. If a listed team name has no reasonable connection to any participating team, or if it matches or could reasonably refer to another team in the same competition such that the intended team cannot be unambiguously determined, this market will resolve 50-50.

Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets aggregate the beliefs of traders risking real capital. For esports matchups like this one, prediction markets can sometimes price outcomes more efficiently when sportsbooks have limited liquidity or slower adjustment to new information. Comparing the two can reveal where one venue undervalues or overvalues a team relative to the other.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that adjusts odds continuously as traders place orders. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each outcome share trades between 0 and 1, with the price reflecting the collective probability assigned by the market. Larger trades move the price more sharply, incentivizing traders to provide liquidity at favorable rates. The system ensures transparent, real-time pricing without a central operator setting odds manually.
This market resolves around Jul 8, 2026, once the best-of-three series between the two teams concludes and the result is verifiable from credible public reporting. The outcome is determined by which team wins the playoff match according to the official VCL Korea tournament records. Early resolution may occur if one team advances via walkover or disqualification, though standard competitive play is the expected path. Traders should monitor official league announcements for any schedule changes or disputes.
Key catalysts include roster changes, player injuries, or substitutions announced before the match begins, which can shift perceived team strength significantly. Recent tournament results and head-to-head records between the teams often trigger repricing as traders update their models. In-game performance during earlier rounds of the playoffs may reveal new information about form, map pool strength, or tactical adjustments. Betting line movements from major sportsbooks and community sentiment shifts on esports forums can also influence trader behavior and market prices.
