PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: Kalshi defines the event as 'tournament winner' (Esports World Cup 2026 outcome) with contradictory YES resolution for both possible winners, making it logically unresolvable. Polymarket defines the event as the specific head-to-head match on July 4, 2026 with clear binary and numeric outcomes. These are entirely different events.Hero tip: Kalshi market contains a logical contradiction and should not be settled without platform clarification. The statement 'If 100 Thieves wins EWC 2026, resolve YES' and 'If BBL Esports wins EWC 2026, resolve YES' cannot both be true. Polymarket markets are well-defined and resolvable; focus settlement efforts there. Request Kalshi to clarify whether the market should resolve on (a) the specific match result, or (b) a single tournament winner with appropriate YES/NO outcomes.

Critical divergence points:

  • Kalshi: Market resolves YES if 100 Thieves wins Esports World Cup 2026, and also resolves YES if BBL Esports wins Esports World Cup 2026. This creates a logical impossibility where both mutually exclusive outcomes trigger the same resolution. The market lacks a NO outcome definition and is fundamentally unresolvable as written.
  • Polymarket: Markets resolve on the specific July 4, 2026 match result and map-level performance. Match winner resolves to the team that wins the BO3. Map winners resolve to individual map victors. Round markets resolve on actual round counts played. All outcomes are mutually exclusive and clearly defined with 50-50 tie-breakers for incomplete maps or canceled matches.
Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and understanding the applicable rules and resolution criteria before placing any trade or bet. If you notice a potential inconsistency, discrepancy, or error in an alert, please report it to our team so we can review and improve the accuracy of our data.

Polymarket

This market refers to the Valorant Winners match between 100 Thieves and BBL Esports in the Esports World Cup Group A, initially scheduled for July 4 at 7:00AM ET. This market will resolve to "100 Thieves" if 100 Thieves win the match against BBL Esports. This market will resolve to "BBL Esports" if BBL Esports win the match against 100 Thieves. If the match is canceled (not played at all), ends in a tie, or is delayed beyond 7 days from the scheduled date without a winner determined, this market will resolve to 50-50. If the match begins but is not completed, and one team wins due to the opponent's forfeiture, disqualification, or walkover, this market will resolve to the team who wins. If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover (team withdraws before the start and the other wins automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50. The resolution source for this market will be official information from https://vlr.gg. However, if https://vlr.gg has not published final results within 2 hours after the event’s conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead including video evidence. In cases where a team’s listed name includes minor discrepancies from the resolution source, this market will resolve based on the underlying real-world match rather than exact name matching. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor tags, affiliate or academy designations, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences will be treated as referring to the same team, provided the intended team can be clearly and uniquely identified within the relevant competition. If a listed team name has no reasonable connection to any participating team, or if it matches or could reasonably refer to another team in the same competition such that the intended team cannot be unambiguously determined, this market will resolve 50-50.

Kalshi

Resolution is determined by the outcome of the 100 Thieves vs. BBL Esports Valorant match scheduled for July 4, 2026 at 7:00 AM EDT at the Esports World Cup 2026. The market resolves Yes for whichever team wins the match.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction markets and sportsbooks price events differently. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and lock in margin; prediction markets aggregate trader beliefs through continuous order flow. This market's odds reflect what thousands of traders collectively believe will happen, often incorporating real-time team news, scrim results, and player form faster than traditional books update. Prediction market prices tend to be sharper on niche esports events because traders have direct financial incentive to correct mispricing, whereas sportsbooks may lag or avoid deep liquidity on lower-volume matches.

Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform attracts different trader bases, contract designs, and liquidity pools. Kalshi's binary match-winner contract appeals to directional bettors, while Polymarket's map handicap structure attracts players focused on round-level precision. Funding rates, fee structures, and user demographics also vary between platforms, causing temporary price gaps. Arbitrage traders typically exploit these spreads, but on lower-volume esports events, gaps can persist longer. Monitoring both venues reveals which outcome the broader market favors and where smart money is positioning ahead of the match.

Roster changes, player injuries, or last-minute roster swaps can shift odds significantly. Recent scrim results, head-to-head records, and map pool updates often trigger repricing as traders digest new information. Venue conditions, ping, and hardware setup details matter in Valorant and may influence trader sentiment. Media narratives around team form, coaching changes, or meta shifts can also drive volume and price movement. Monitor official team announcements and esports news outlets for breaking developments that could reshape expectations before the match begins.
