This market focuses on predicting which team will lead after the first quarter of a college football game between UTSA and Texas. It reflects the competitive dynamics of the early game stages, where initial momentum can significantly influence the match's trajectory.
The market resolves based on which team scores more points in the first quarter of the UTSA vs Texas college football game scheduled for September 19, 2026. If Texas scores more points in the first quarter, the 'Texas wins 1st Quarter' market resolves to Yes. If UTSA scores more points in the first quarter, the 'UTSA wins 1st Quarter' market resolves to Yes. If both teams score the same number of points in the first quarter, the 'Tie 1st Quarter' market resolves to Yes. For all markets, only points scored during the first quarter count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Generally, prediction market odds tend to reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often aligning with but sometimes diverging from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and risk management, while this market’s prices are determined by individuals trading based on their own information and beliefs. If there’s a significant discrepancy, it could indicate that prediction market traders possess information not yet fully incorporated into sportsbook lines, or that they have different risk preferences. It's common to see prediction markets move faster than sportsbooks to incorporate new information.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous double auction, meaning traders buy and sell contracts representing each possible outcome – in this case, either UTSA or Texas winning the first quarter. The price of each contract reflects the market’s collective assessment of the probability of that outcome occurring. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the prices adjust dynamically, providing a real-time estimate of expectations. The closer we get to the event, the more the price will likely converge towards 100 for the winning team.
This market resolves around Sep 20, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The team leading at the end of the first quarter, as officially recorded by the game's governing body, will determine the winning outcome for this market. Resolution will occur shortly after the conclusion of the first quarter, allowing sufficient time for official results to be verified. Traders who correctly predicted the first quarter winner will receive a payout based on the final market price at resolution.
Several factors could influence trading activity in this market. Late-breaking news regarding key player injuries for either UTSA or Texas would likely cause significant price movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they favor one team’s playing style, could also impact the market. Public sentiment, as reflected in polls or expert analyses, can also play a role, though prediction markets often incorporate information independently. Finally, any significant shifts in betting patterns on sportsbooks could draw attention and influence trading on Kalshi.
