These markets evaluate different thresholds of points scored by both teams combined in the second half of a college football game. Each threshold represents a specific level of scoring performance that, if exceeded, determines the outcome of that particular market.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams in the second half (excluding overtime) of the UTEP vs Oklahoma college football game scheduled for September 4, 2026. Each market has a specific threshold: if the combined second-half points exceed that threshold, the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. For all markets, only points scored during the second half (excluding overtime) count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often incorporating information and analysis beyond what’s readily available in traditional sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set initial odds based on statistical models and expert opinions, but this market allows for continuous adjustment as new information emerges and more people trade. While sportsbooks may react slowly to breaking news or changing circumstances, the price of this market can shift rapidly to reflect the latest developments. It’s common to see differences between the two, as prediction markets can sometimes offer a more nuanced view of potential outcomes.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous double auction, meaning traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about whether the total points scored in the second half will be over or under a certain number. The price of a contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the price fluctuates, providing a real-time assessment of expectations. The current price indicates the market’s collective forecast for the final score.
This market resolves around Sep 5, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score of the second half of the UTEP vs Oklahoma game will be used to determine whether the total points scored were above or below the threshold defined by the market. Resolution will be based on official game statistics, ensuring an objective and transparent process. Traders will then be paid out based on their positions in the market, reflecting the accuracy of their predictions.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before resolution. Any news regarding key player injuries for either UTEP or Oklahoma would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they are expected to impact scoring, could also shift expectations. Unexpected coaching decisions or strategic adjustments announced before or during the game might also affect the market. Finally, even public sentiment and betting trends observed elsewhere could influence trading activity and the overall price of this market.
