If Iowa State scores more points in that quarter, the "Iowa St. wins 3rd Quarter" market resolves to Yes. If Utah scores more points, the "Utah wins 3rd Quarter" market resolves to Yes. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the market remains open and resolves based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Prediction market odds often offer a different perspective than traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines to balance their risk and ensure profit, incorporating a 'vig' or commission. This market, however, is driven purely by the collective wisdom of traders who are incentivized to accurately predict the outcome. While sportsbook odds may initially reflect public perception, prediction markets can sometimes adjust more rapidly to new information or nuanced analysis, potentially offering a more accurate forecast. It's common to see discrepancies, especially as the event approaches.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous double auction, where traders buy and sell contracts representing each possible outcome. The price of a contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. As more traders participate, the prices converge towards a fair value, representing the collective prediction. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market depth, or the number of contracts available at different price points, also provides insights into the strength of conviction behind each prediction. Traders aim to profit by accurately forecasting the result and capitalizing on price discrepancies.
This market resolves around Sep 26, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The team leading after the third quarter of the Utah vs Iowa State game will be declared the winner of this market. The final score will be verified against official game statistics and sources to ensure accuracy. Traders should monitor official sources for confirmation of the result, as this will trigger the settlement of all outstanding contracts on Kalshi.
Several factors could influence the price movement in this market. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in team strategy, or even weather conditions could shift trader sentiment. Unexpected performance from key players during the first half of the game would likely have a significant impact. Public perception, as reflected in social media and sports news, can also play a role, though the market is ultimately driven by informed traders. Late-breaking news or significant shifts in betting patterns at sportsbooks could also cause fluctuations in this market.
