If Rutgers scores more points in that quarter, the "Rutgers wins 3rd Quarter" market resolves to Yes. If USC scores more points, the "USC wins 3rd Quarter" market resolves to Yes. If both teams score the same number of points, the "Tie 3rd Quarter" market resolves to Yes. For all markets, only points scored during the third quarter count toward resolution. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of its original time, the market remains open and resolves based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and to balance action, while this market is driven by individuals trading based on their own information and beliefs. If a significant number of people believe one team is more likely to win the 3rd quarter than sportsbooks suggest, the price for that outcome will decrease, indicating a higher implied probability. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply varying levels of market participation.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book, where traders buy and sell contracts representing each possible outcome. The price of a contract reflects the market’s probability of that outcome occurring. As more people buy contracts for a particular team, the price increases, and the implied probability decreases. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market dynamically adjusts to new information and trading activity, providing a real-time assessment of expectations for the 3rd quarter winner. The current top outcome, according to trading activity, is Rutgers winning the 3rd quarter.
This market resolves around Sep 19, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the market will settle based on which team is officially declared the winner of the 3rd quarter of the USC vs Rutgers football game by the official game statistics. The final score at the end of the 3rd quarter will determine the winning team and the settlement of contracts on Kalshi. This ensures a transparent and verifiable resolution process for all participants.
Several factors could influence the price movement of this market before resolution. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the USC or Rutgers football teams would likely have a significant impact. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest adverse playing conditions, could also shift expectations. Furthermore, in-game performance during the first and second quarters, such as a dominant offensive showing by one team, could lead to traders adjusting their positions and influencing the market price. Public sentiment and any late-breaking analysis could also contribute to price fluctuations.
