Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different mechanisms. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and manage risk, while prediction markets price outcomes through continuous trading among participants with real money at stake. This market may show different probabilities than traditional sportsbooks because traders are directly wagering on the second half result without a bookmaker's margin. Comparing the two can reveal where market participants see value relative to conventional betting lines, though both aim to reflect the true likelihood of outcomes.
On Polymarket, traders set prices through an automated market maker mechanism where buying and selling shares directly moves the odds. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price reflects the aggregated conviction of all participants trading this outcome. As more traders buy shares predicting one result, the price rises; conversely, selling pressure lowers it. This continuous price discovery means the market adapts in real time to new information, team news, or shifting sentiment about the second half result, creating a dynamic probability estimate.
This market resolves around Jun 18, 2026, once the match concludes and the second half result is verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by which team scores more goals in the second half specifically. Resolution occurs after the final whistle and any official confirmation of the result. Traders should monitor the event closely as the resolution date approaches to ensure they understand the exact timing and any final details that may affect how this market settles.
Several factors could shift odds before Jun 18, 2026. Team news such as injuries, suspensions, or lineup changes announced before kickoff will likely trigger repricing. First-half performance is a major catalyst—if one team dominates the opening 45 minutes, traders may adjust their expectations for the second half accordingly. Momentum swings, tactical adjustments at halftime, and real-time scoring during the match will all influence trading activity. Weather conditions, referee decisions, and any unexpected developments during play can also move this market as participants update their forecasts.
