Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, while this market allows anyone to trade based on their own insights. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook is mispricing an outcome, they can take the opposite position on Polymarket, potentially driving the prediction market odds closer to what they perceive as the true probability. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially before a lot of money flows into either side.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous trading mechanism where users buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome.
