Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can often differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set their lines based on their own modeling and to balance action on both sides, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. If a significant number of people believe a player has a better chance of winning than sportsbooks suggest, the odds on Polymarket will likely shift in that player’s favor. It's common to see discrepancies, especially before a lot of money has been traded on this market.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each player's chance of winning. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome. As more traders buy shares in a particular player, the price increases, reflecting growing confidence. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market's price is entirely determined by supply and demand among traders on Polymarket, and is not influenced by external factors.
This market resolves around Sep 15, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Traders who hold shares in the winning player will receive a payout equal to 1 minus the entry fee, while those holding shares in the losing player will lose their stake.
Several factors could influence the trading activity and shift the odds in this market. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in playing conditions, or updates on their recent performance could all have an impact. Unexpected upsets in earlier rounds of the tournament, or strong performances by either player in practice sessions, could also move the market. Furthermore, large trades by influential traders on Polymarket can quickly alter the perceived probabilities and lead to significant price movements.
