Prediction market odds, like those found on Polymarket and Limitless, often differ from traditional sportsbook odds due to the differing incentives of participants. Sportsbooks aim to profit from setting lines, while prediction market traders are incentivized to accurately forecast the outcome. This can lead to prediction markets being more efficient at reflecting true probabilities, especially as the event approaches and more information becomes available. The collective wisdom of traders can sometimes identify mispriced opportunities that sportsbooks miss, resulting in potentially more accurate odds for the Alcaraz vs Shelton match.
