Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets aggregate the beliefs of traders risking real capital. This market aggregates trader conviction directly into prices, which can sometimes lead to sharper or more reactive odds than traditional sportsbooks, especially as match conditions evolve and new information emerges.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that converts trader orders into real-time probability quotes. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders purchase shares representing their belief in each outcome, and the cumulative volume and order flow determine the displayed odds. As more capital flows toward one outcome, its price rises and the competing outcome's price falls, creating a continuous price discovery mechanism that reflects the collective forecast of all active participants.
This market resolves around Jul 29, 2026, once the second half of the match concludes and the final result is verifiable from credible public reporting. The outcome is determined by which team scores more goals during the second half only. Resolution occurs after official match data is confirmed, ensuring accuracy before payouts are distributed to winning traders.
Key catalysts include team lineup announcements, injury updates, and pre-match analysis that may shift expectations about second-half performance. During the match, early first-half goals, tactical adjustments, and player substitutions can reshape trader views on how the second half will unfold. Weather conditions, referee decisions, and momentum swings also influence market pricing as traders reassess probabilities in real time based on unfolding match dynamics.
