Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform attracts different trader demographics, liquidity pools, and fee structures, all of which influence how prices settle. Polymarket may see heavier volume on certain outcomes, while Kalshi reflects a smaller or more specialized user base. Arbitrage opportunities and timing lags between platforms can also widen spreads. Monitoring both venues helps you spot when one platform is pricing an outcome more or less favorably than the other.
Team news, injury updates, and lineup announcements typically shift odds as match day approaches. Recent form, head-to-head history, and betting-market consensus from sportsbooks can also influence trader positioning. Major geopolitical or sporting developments affecting either nation's squad may trigger repricing. As kickoff nears, real-time line movement on traditional sportsbooks often cascades into prediction markets, so monitoring both channels helps you anticipate shifts in this market's pricing.
