Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and manage risk, while prediction markets are driven purely by trader consensus. This market aggregates the collective beliefs of traders betting their own capital, which can sometimes reveal inefficiencies or contrarian views relative to established sportsbooks. Comparing the two can highlight where professional oddsmakers and decentralized traders disagree on the likely second half outcome.
On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing each possible outcome. The price of each outcome reflects the current probability implied by the order flow and liquidity pool. As traders place bets, the price adjusts dynamically to balance supply and demand. Higher prices indicate stronger trader conviction toward that outcome, while lower prices suggest skepticism. The continuous repricing mechanism ensures the market remains responsive to new information and shifting expectations.
This market resolves around Jul 24, 2026, once the second half of the match concludes and the result is verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by which team scores more goals during the second 45 minutes of regulation play. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome will receive their payout, while incorrect positions expire worthless. The resolution process is automated once the final result is confirmed, ensuring all participants receive timely settlement.
Several factors could shift trader sentiment before resolution. Team news—injuries, suspensions, or lineup changes announced before kickoff—often triggers sharp repricing. Early first-half momentum, goals scored, or red cards can reshape expectations for the second half as traders adjust their forecasts. Weather conditions, crowd dynamics, and tactical adjustments made at halftime also influence how traders perceive the second half outlook. Major betting syndicates or sharp money entering the market can move prices significantly, reflecting professional assessment of the matchup.
